Recent findings in shock wave therapy research show successful results in the treatment of some generalized muscle disorders such as myofascial pain syndrome, trigger point-associated pain, and painful tissue disorders (metaplasia).  The D-ACTOR Technology was developed especially for the treatment of these large muscle and connective tissue indications.

With the D-ACTOR Technology, pneumatically-generated acoustic pulses or shock waves are zeroed into the defined area through vibration similar to a deep tissue massage, thus relieving the pain in the area.

The D-ACTOR I (Ø20mm) and II (Ø35mm) tips are optional shock transmitters for the radial applicator hand piece on the DUOLITH and MASTERPULS series.  These tips are 3-5 times larger than current transmitter tips, thus permitting FASTER treatments with FEWER IMPULSES!

Acute & chronic affected areas that have been successfully treated with the D-ACTOR Technology include:

  • Neck pain (cervical)

  • Upper Back pain (dorsalgia)

  • Lower Back pain (lumbar, sacral, sacroiliac)

  • Fibromyositis (Chronic inflammation of a muscle with an overgrowth of the connective tissue).

  • Localizing and deactivating of trigger points

  • Disorders of large muscle & tendon insertions

  • Tissue activation: Promotion of blood flow through tissue thus boosting metabolism.

In addition, this technology can be used for Equine MyoTherapy and Wellbeing Massage & Stretching (smoothening) Therapy

Technical Data:

  • Shock Transmitter Size(s): D-Actor I Ø 20 mm;
    D-Actor II Ø 35 mm
  • Pulse Amplitude: approx. 2 mm at 3 bar,
    without coupling
  • Pulse Length: approx. 2.5 ms
